| oniyide said: ^^^^ my point of what is there new to see after you've beaten it was never addressed(1). doing a speed run does not appeal to me in the slightest(2a), because im still just going thru the same levels. Now you might say that for any game and you would be right, but i can run through a 2d Mario rather quickly and then thats it for me(2c). I cant really say that for alot of other games(3). But then again that is the nature of the 2d platformer. Not really fair to compare them to a Mass Effect which has literally hours of content outside the main story. Ill give DKCR a go eventually its supposed to be more challenging |
1. I did address it. The statement applies to almost all games with fixed content, thus is invalid as a reason against platformers in particular.
2. I should have written "go throuh the level quickly" instead of "speed run". But my point there is that for some people that's not it for them, while for you it is. It would have been better to include that in your posts in the first place, as it makes a subjective point we can understand instead of what looks like an objective claim.
3. That's actually because a lot of games force you to slow down to pad their playtimes out. You're confusing being able to run through a game for less content.
A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.
