If they do release it, and facing the fact that they likely will if I want them to or not, I think it will likely be on the 3DS. Because I don't like the fact that otherwise the first 3DS pokemon titles would be the R/S remakes, in 2013.
And I think pokemon early on the 3DS will allow newer connectivity with the Wii to form before the Wii goes out.
Actually, I wrote a couple renditions of this prediction, exact opposites of each other, because I'm really muddled about what they will do with pokemon now. I don't think it's wise to have the first pokemon on the 3DS be remakes. But I'm not sure that making it a third edition is much better. :/
And, of course, for a few years on, there are just getting to be so many pokemon. XD You have to question how many gens are actually feasible in the same canon.
