Will they get Valve on board? Hell, will they get Sony/Microsoft/Nintendo on board? I mean, there aren't too many sources for this information, and most sources seem like they wouldn't be inclined to share their numbers. They could go to the publishers directly, but publishers are some of the main clients for NPD, and in this case they'll already have any information regarding their own games.
