Yeah, but you can still say "Playstation" and people think of a console. Going forward, that's what I think will change. Steam seems a pretty good indicator that even on an open platform like PC, people will gravitate towards a more closed platform-on-a-platform if it's a good one.

Its because people do not have to remember a dozen passwords and know their media is safe.

That might be a nice convenience, but I think Steam's great deals and large community has a lot more to do with it. The community is probably the biggest draw of all. I always see people bitch about paying for Live when most of the games are on PS3 or PC with free online multiplayer, but they continue to do it because that's where their friends play.

Their deals and large communities are very attractive. But Steam isn't the only platform PC has. Its the biggest, but Impulse, D2D, GoG, etc all have communities and good deals. As you say, people flock where friends and communities are. But there are people who break the typical mold and go to another platform based on opinions that one platform is superior to another.

PC gaming is better than console gaming. Always.     We are Anonymous, We are Legion    Kick-ass interview   Great Flash Series Here    Anime Ratings     Make and Play Please
