Right, that title might sound a bit wonkey. Remember around a year back, when we had a "monthly" page, as well as a weekly and yearly? Well, I have a suggestion on how we could compile a monthly with full data, like how it was before VGChartz Pro. But it's quite complicated, so we'd need to be multiple people doing it. It could theoretically be done weekly, but that would end up being far too much work.

Here's the plan.

We still have a full "yearly" chart, with the ability to search all the different consoles and publishers. With this, we could make a list that shows how much all the games have sold up until a date. Let's say we started right now and made it 5th March. We compile a list that's essentially the completely full yearly data in a long list. Or just the top 250 (or so)  yearly.

Then we do the same next month. Week ending 8th April (or so). We make the full list again, and then subtract the first list from the second. That way, we've found out how much all the titles have sold between 5th March and 8th April. Then we add that into a list, and voila, there's the Monthly List of April, with how muchall the titles have sold.

That's the theoretical part. In reality, we're not going to be able to do it fully that well, simply because we don't have an infinite amount of time to spend on this.  So, we're going to have to limit how many titles we put into the yearly list. We can do this in two ways, as far as I can see.

A) Make a "top 50" list for each console the first month, then a new one the next. That should give us a "top 40" or "top 45" monthly list for each console. (The bottom 5 titles are likely to be shifted out between the two months, thus eliminating a couple of titles for the monthly) both the months). We then both post the individual console lists, and the combined list.

B) Make a list for each of the top 30 (for instance, that's the max, as the yearly only displays the top 30) publishers. Then smash all of that into a combined list.

A will be less work, and give us individual lists for the machines, and be less work, but give a smaller combined list. I think that's a slightly better option. Another problem with A is that the list will have 50 Wii titles and 50 DS titles, despite only 30 or so of the DS titles selling above Wii title #50, so it won't be a completely "true" top 200.

In order to make a full list, we'd probably need to be 7 or 8 people. One person for the Wii, one for the Ps3, one for the X360, one for the DS, one for the PsP, one for the 3DS and one for the Ps2. One person could do for instance both PsP and Ps2, though.

If we manage to get that many people, it shouldn't take that long for any of us. I imagine it should take around 30 minutes the first time, and then far less the next (as you don't have to type in the titles, only the numbers).

So, question time.

- Would you find such a list interesting?  There's not much point if people won't read it. I figure that people would be interested in seeing how their favourite titles sell, but I may be wrong.

- Can you find any flaws in the plan? Any comments on it at all would be lovely.

- Would you like to help make the list? You don't need any special abilities, just a keyboard and an internet connection really. And fingers, probably.

- If we do this, will the thread just be closed, as we're making public data that's intended to be for VGChartz Pro users only? If so, I'd like to know in advance.
