No news on the release date yet, but ArenaNet have said they'll be having internal tests that will determine if the game is ready for beta this year. We have no idea when this beta may or may not come, but if all goes well, I could see the game be out for the holidays.
And what race do you want to play as? I'm pretty excited about the norn right now, and I played a ranger in GW, and I think I'm going to play a ranger here as well.
