PSP might as well have been a Capcom system, they're single handedly responsible for any success the system has seen.  Sony's been practically asleep at the wheel.

you love list, right. Psp gets about 60% of the games made in Japan, a million or not, you want success as a third party, the PSP is your best choice in Japan.

If you remove ADV shovelware from the equation, PSP gets more like 10% of the games made in Japan.  Though that's admittedly still more than Wii (lol).

Funny enough though, Wii still sold more games overall in Japan than PSP has even.  And DS has sold more 3rd party games alone than PSP has sold games total.

I was hoping for a list. The PSP has come a long way to where it is today, there's no comparing it to the DS, as it really got all the support for years. The DS had games the Wii should have had, but little by little, The PSP got stronger, found its niche and as strong as a brand in Japan as any other system. 

While it's hard to really outsell a a device that has Pokemon, Super Mario, Mari Kart , Dragon Quest, no other second place has done as well as the PSP, ever.  

The Wii sells first party games, tons of it which I am happy about and has allowed even the 360 to get better support. God I missed the thread on how the Last Story was going to replace Final Fantasy.
