I consider someone who plays any kind of game seriously a gamer but since you used the phrase 'to be considered a gamer',
1. A Zelda Game
2. A GTA Game
3. A JRPG (not everyone likes turn based, but not all RPGs are turn based)
4. An adventure focused FPS like Metroid, Half Life or Bioshock
5. A multiplayer focused FPS like COD
6. A 2D platforming game, preferabbly Mario or one of the better Sonics
7. A 3D platforming game. This must include Mario
8. A fighter (2d or 3d doesn't matter)
9. A Metal Gear game. Every 'gamer' must beat at least one of these
10. Something Tetris or Pac Manish. Something high score oriented.
If one has played at least one game in each of these categories, I can forgive him for having never played a good sports game, racing simulator, or anything else he has missed out on.
