I don't see why you guys are thinking that Nintendo would launch a home console nowadays during ANY period other than fall. It's coming out Fall 2012, or Fall 2013. Period. |
Timing, mostly. Wii's struggles in Japan mean that they should replace the console as soon as possible after a holiday season there at least, and this would also be wise in other regions as well. DS sales this holiday shows that a known replacement console does not hinder late-term sales that much.
