I just wanted a big, gushing nostalgia post to express my feelings and hopefully be fun for others to read.
And yes, I remember the shitty parts of the site. The trolls back in the day were far worse than those today (and they were really weird too, almost personality-disorder level). And yeah, nostalgia plays a part in it. But I don't think I'm alone in believing that the community has declined as a whole.
As for Nintendo, we have a dozen or so "Nintendo is doomed" articles up right now (and yes I know that's an exaggeration). Hating on Nintendo is just a part of forum life.
