I think Fire Emblem X and Mario Party 8 were both supposed to be GC games at first, that's why they weren't as good as some would have expected. Pokemon BR seems to be a rushed launch title.

Given the Wii's success I don't see a need for Nintendo to rush out any of their games, so they should pretty much all come with the quality of SMG and MP3:C. Franchises that don't have a sequel announced yet, should sooner or later get one.

Actually with the success of the Wii Nintendo could very well go on a vacation with the money they gain from the wii but does that make business sense? Granted they don’t need to bring all of their top series in one year. However for games like Mario Party and Pokemon they will need to start changing the formula a bit before it gets too stale.

Mario Party always was developed by Hudson Soft, the games always sold well, so they most likely won't change that much in future installments. Pokemon on consoles was always at best a secondary issue for Nintendo, the series always seemed better suited for the handhelds.

Golden Sun games were both developed by Camelot, also responsible for several Mario Golf and Mario Tennis games.

@Tifa

There were 3 FE games on the SNES.

Mario Party games sold worse and worse through the series, with a minor bump for the first Gamecube game. Games usually sell better when they are the first of a series on a new console. Granted, Mario Party 8 sold really well. We'll see if it tapers off again. If they actually improve everything wrong with the series I'll get back into it (currently have 8 way down on my gamefly list despite having played 1-7 with friends' consoles).

 I think it'll change With Wii due to the demographics
