Because it has the same problems as the PSP:

only one friggin nubstick.

I called it first.

DS FPS's are played using the touch screen, at least the ones I played - and they are the most precise and comfortable non-PC shooters after the Wii/Move. Try it out, you'll LOVE IT.

And yeah, whoever releases one first, will acquire a major advantage for himself.

i tried metroid prime hunter and i thought the controls here horrid...

but i agree with sliver-tiger -- NGP is undoubtedly going to be the shooter handheld just because of the second analog.  developers are faimilur and happy with that set-up...as are customers.

This.

I know the touchscreen acts as mouse, but I hate it, and I don't think it's the best solution to replace the 2nd nubstick. Your complete hand is contributed to the touchscreen. Even when you use a mouse, you have  at least 3 buttons additionally, or with a controller, even the complete right set of buttons.

playing right now: Xenoblade Chronicles

Hype-o-meter, from least to most hyped:  the Last Story, Twisted Metal, Mass Effect 3, Final Fantasy XIII-2, Final Fantasy Versus XIII, Playstation ViTA

bet with Mordred11 that Rage will look better on Xbox 360.
