All psp games on PSN will be playable on NGP WITH updated graphics In my book (and just about everyone else's) that's BC... Also, I don't know if you're aware of this... but there is this thing called a 'PSN account'. And on this 'PSN account' all games purchased be it ps3 or psp, can be redownloaded over and over and OVER AGAIN! :O So guess what? My ps3, psp and minis will be playable on npg day one... And all I have to do is hit download...

As for the awkward titles I mentioned, what are those games about? How is their quality? What price will they be/ if anything at all? And what do they have to do with your argument? Seems like someone doesn't have legs to stand on because he got told what was what... I'm just going to assume you dishearteningly agree that sony does, indeed, have these 'pick up and play' games you originally claimed were absent.

Graphics? You do not listen. If anything, it's going to be xbox/ps3 to ngp with effort rather than ngp/3ds. Maybe you are right though... I guess I could see entire 3ds games being npg downloads... We'll have to see how that plays out

And for your last sentence... what the FUCK is this shit? This is beyond annoying. You're claiming I don't know why these games sell so well? And in comparison to psp games? Hmmm... let me give it a swing... Mario/ and the billon games that share it's tradmark, pokemon, Zelda... these games sell because they are quality. Not only that, but they've been ingrained into generations of people as the epitome of video games. This is no easy task my friend, oh no. It takes YEARS to create such a such a series if at all. It certainly helps if the game is amazing to begin with... But the fact remains, games need a combination of timing preferably near the beginning of the generation, advertising like the massive pokemon card blitz that occurred in the 90s, and critical reception to launch a series into 10-million sales plus status. I wish a certain psp game got such treatment :'(

What is Sony doing for the NGP that makes it's game prospects so... so... bleak? Not having a time machine to go back 10 years and give Little big planet or Uncharted enough time to build up when Sony was ruling the world? And does that even matter? I don't know dude, Sony seems to have all their cards in the right place. And just because Nintendo has Pokemon or Mario never stopped anyone from success.. that includes the psp btw without mega franchises like Uncharted sooooooooo...

?

*ahem* not to be rude but this post was so full of crap.

Backwards compatibility is the ability to play my software I bought on my old system, this means my retail titles, you know the ones that everyone buys?  Or lest we forgotten how not ever PSP title is on PSN nor is most PSP owners even connected to the net, this is the very reason the PSP Go was a commercial failure, period.  Backwards compatibility is NOT N-O-T rebuying titles you already own online to be able to play them again.

You can check out Reality Fighters and Smart As in Sony's video.

Riviting game play I saw there...

I guess you don't seem to understand that high end current gen titles are being ported over to the 3DS already and was done in no time to test the specs of the system, will it beat the NGP in raw power? Hell no but no one has been claiming that this entire thread, will it be able to share PS3 and 360 ports if a developer chooses to do so like they did with the PSP and PS2?  Yeah sure as long as you're not like Epic Games and don't even attempt.

And I simply do not have to explain why your last couple of paragraphs are just wrong, I just need one simple chart.

Yes that's right the original Pokemon, the very first, without any IP to build off of, is STILL the best selling title in the series.  Love how I didn't even mention Zelda either

Or how bout them thar touch generation titles? All new IPs...

Which goes back to the main point, good quality portable titles that are meant to be played on the go, and that's rooted into the very design of the title rather than if it would live up to stationary console standards, since what people want on the go is different from what they want when they can spend an afternoon indoors to play games.  Pokemon on handhelds = huge success, pokemon on home consoles? Not so much.  Gran Turismo on home consoles = huge success, GT on handheld?  Not so much.  Sony's issue is addressing what people want on the go, not your typical "quality" scale.

Nothing is "bleak" about the NGP this is you assuming that someone bringing up some issuses is some sort of bleak portrait, no one is short changing the system, though hopefully that slide Sony put up about NGP cart size being 2 to 4 GB is just a launch size rather than maxing out at 4gb, else that would be a serious problem for the NGP.
