Good, I hope this is all true. A system unable to boot makes it harder to get a "patch" to run on it and "fix" it. It may not seem nice, but the pirates have brought it on themselves. And at least in the USA, it's all perfectly legal under the DMCA. And it'd be easy enough to say that it was "unauthorized software" that caused the problem in other areas...
