The no-trade-in thing is fair (though it would be ultimately impossible to enforce, i would think), but i am going to get downright angry if they start bricking systems. Locking up the system you own retroactively is downright criminal, and if Sony should be forced into restitution for removal of Other OS, all the more so for the permanent removal of all functionality.
The technology behind this could be used for a more benign solution that doesn't involve violation of consumer rights, so i damn well hope Nintendo goes that way.
