It's amazing how some people accept and adapt to different controllers . With the update (being able to track fingers ect) it'll make it even more precise. |
While finger tracking will be great for some games. RTS it would not be. There is no way for it to know which unit or units you are pointing at exactly. I guess maybe groups might work.. but if you have a group of 40 units together bunched and you want to select 1 it will not work. Also drawing waypoints will not work well at all. Also, menus wont work unless you want to constantly say open this or that constantly which most RTS's need. Menu systems would need to be completely reworked into (ugly?) big buttons on the side or top of the screen.
The main issue is that there isn't one size of TV and even if they are the same size, resolution can be different. Whether its 480, 720, 768 (some tvs do this), or 1080, and all the other various tv resolutions around the world. Unless your TV is the exact size of the wall behind you, it will not work. RTS's need extreme accuracy, more than even shooters.
It would most likely work if you have another Kinect behind you that measures your TVs size and improve pointing accuracy though.
Finger movement tracking all that would be amazing for RPGs. Adds a new level of interactive casting. A Naruto game would be such a pain in the ass, lol.
