But yeah, games don't have those maps because all the scrubs playing games would get lost somewehre after the 3rd corner and then cry and bitch about it on the forums and not buy sequels. Gotta service the most noobs to make the most money I guess. God forbid lil Timmy can't navigate the game and doesn't want to shell out money for DLC/sequels.
Edit: The most recent example. Painkiller vs Bulletstorm. Made by the same devs. I remember thinking Painkiller was straighforward, hell it even had a friken compass thing to guide you around if you got lost in the theater while shooting samurai or something. Now in Bulletstorm I go from A to B and that's it. I can't even jump and crouch properly anymore.... I can't believe I'm saying this, but i'd take the shitty jumping puzzles back then over the straighforward idiocy of modern level design.
