As for me the video looks really nice, honestly it was what I was expecting when they said they were cleaning up the visuals. There's a lot of nice effects, character models look clean and high quality, loving the way the new mechanics flow into combat which hasn't happened since OoT, and I enjoy the subtle hint at the story. |
WW I thought was good except for its most oft-cited complaint: the sailing. Neat idea, but the ocean wa a whole lot of ...nothing. Just nothing but blue. The fields in the other games hide the illusion that you're traveling from point A to point B WAY better. That and the endgame Triforce hunt was completely unneeded. I had no problems with TP; heck, I'd even say from a purely mechanical/design standpoint its far superior to OoT.
But anyway, most grievances against Nintendo's franchises come off as petty as ignorant. People wanna know WHY Zelda, Metroid, SSB, Mario, and a lot of other Nintendo series sell gangbusters despite claims that supposedly "never changing."? Simple: THEY'RE GOOD. They don't mess with formulas that don't need fixing. Zelda, Mario, and SSB are, dare I say it, nearly perfect from a design standpoint. There is literally NOTHING I could thing of that they need to fix. Metroid is the most experimental of the bunch, but at the score its still fine.
