Yeah but gamer feedback behind Medal of Honor before launch (and especially after) was also weak. Yet it sold 4.2 mill in 20 weeks (for some reason VGC data dont go further)

BF3 will sell 8 million. It's not the new COD but it will be nearly halfways.

Almost 5 million X360 and over 3 million PS3.

Bad Company 2 is over 5 lifetime million right?  Now look:

Now BF3 will come in the Holiday season, that's another 1 million extra.

It will get better reviews, rufly 93%, that's another 1 million extra.

Battlefield is a bigger franchise than Bad Company, that's another 1 million extra.

Medal of Honor is also a proven franchise that's been around for quite sometime and had enough of a decent multiplayer to pull people in. Crysis 2 isn't launching during a holiday and doesn't have a name like MoH behind it. Those are key differences.

For Battlefield 3 to sell that much more than Bad Company 2, it would have to be an instant breakout hit. Now these things can happen; with new IPs (such as Gears of War), or new side franchises within a known IP (Call of Duty Modern Warfare), but they are generally exceptions to the rule, not the rule itself.

Can it happen, sure. Will it happen, I'm not thinking so right now (especially when a nice chunk of BF3's players will be on PC).

Thus: Crysis 2 - 4 million (PS3/360), Battlefield 3 (5-5.mill PS3/360 - perhaps 6 million). We'll see what happens.

But I want Crisis to sell  million. I like Crytek.

Plus it has this innovation going with the nano suit.

Sadly you cannot foresee the new super franchise that is Battlefield. I wouldn't be surprised if it sold well over 10 million.

BF3 will do what Medal Of Honor couldn't accomplish. EA knows this.

Will you get BF3 CGI? Have u got Bad company 2?
