Not true, Epic is only having Microsoft publish the game. Remember the first few Unreal Tournaments were published by Atari, but newer ones are by Midway. It Is also similar to Valve which has EA publish their titles even though they themselves are a publisher or could get someone else to publish the games too. The devs studio owns the rights, and just sells publishing rights to a studio. Epic could easily sell publishing rights for a Gears Trilogy for PS3 to Midway/EA/Atari/etc.
