There are lots of developers who come from a very different side of the market than Nintendo, and have very different views about how to be successful, and as a result they don't (really) have any intention to develop products for certain Nintendo platforms. If most of these developers said that they would support a Nintendo platform that matched their requirements I would believe them because they have demonstrated rationality when talking about Nintendo in the past; even those who have a legitimate reason to dislike Nintendo. On the other hand, most people know that regardless of what Nintendo produces Mark Reign will continue to bash it ... An example of another developer is John Carmack, who has legitimate reasons to dislike Nintendo after their falling out over Quake 64. Years ago he was asked whether the Gamecube could "Handle" Doom 3 and his response was something like "In many ways the Gamecube is better suited to the Doom 3 engine than the XBox is"; which spurred the follow up question "Does this mean we will see Doom 3 ported to the Gamecube" and Carmack's response was (essentially) "no". |
Totally agree.
I've never liked this guy; seems very loud-mouthed and egotistical. It's strange that he comes from the same company as Cliff Bleszinski, who I like very much. Totally fine with Carmack as well. There's a difference between saying something like, "The Wii is a bit behind technologically" as Carmack once did, and the outright bashing that Reign's known for.
