Why do people keep on wanting their support? If you like their games so much buy something that can play them

The customers are not beholden to the developers. This is not a utility. They have to please us if they want to make money.

 

But clearly they do not care about Nintendo fans and they know if you want their games you will buy something that plays them

That does not make the customers' wants secondary to the developers' wants. They still have to make a good game that people will buy, not simply make a game that they can slap their name on. Unreal and Unreal Tournament are not as big series as Gears, despite being made Epic.
