No Chance. I already fell for Oblivion while I was waiting for FF13. It was by far the worst RPG experience that I ever had. There was not 1 thing that I liked about it. It was outright horrible and I just couldn't see why it got so good reviews. I played it for more than 30 hours... just wasted time in my opinion.

But after having played Dragon Age, Borderlands and Sacred 2 I must say that those PC-style games are just not taste. I just can't accept that they have so an absolutely boring main story or character development (esp. Main character). Those 200 Sidequests are absolutely senseless and get boring pretty quick. I even tried out the Mass Effect 2 Demo, but I didn't like it at all.

Maybe it is just a cultural issue. It seems that open world, sidequests, dialogue choices, moral systems, etc are just very popular in the US and the UK. I just can't stand them. I already get disappointed if a game starts with a "create your own character" screen... Its already a synonym for a silent character and a bad main story for me...

I don't want to offend the fans though. Oblivion just gets me mad because it was the first total flop for me in years. I read Reviews and fan comments and everyone praised it, it got many GOTY awards.....I just didn't expect that I would not enjoy the game at all.

So Oblivion became a symbol for me not to trust reviews anymore. No matter how good a game may be actually, if you just can't stand certain game designs you just can't enjoy the game.

Get Witcher, its an answer to all your complaints about the WRPG genre that are in your post. Get the enhanced edition if you can find it.
