Nah Rol didn't kill it theirs just not much to say.
The Wii selling 7-million a year is not something to be braging about per say especially since that number is a decrease from the prior year and this year will probably be less then last. I think Iwata is simply not playing his cards we'll hear about the new console at E3.
Remember right before DS:Lite was released Reggie said the same week Iwata announced the DS:Lite that the DS:Lite was a rumour and that Nintendo was not releasing one. Fact of the matter is Nintendo likes to be tight lipped about their consoles until the perfect time.
With the 3DS launch in North America Imminent why release info on the next gen home platform this early? Of course Nintendo is going to hold off till E3, now I don't expect a huge unvieling at E3, its possible but I think a modest mention may be made much like Nintendo did at E3 2005.
As for expanding the market from DS to 3DS, its possible that the 3DS could sell more then DS, but it would be foolish for Nintendo to expect it too. Alot could go wrong and alot could happen in the next 5-7 years which could effect the 3DS's sales.Nintendo would be fairly arrogant to expect superior sales to the DS (The most successful handheld to date).
