I mostly play rpgs like final fantasy 1 and 2, crimson gem saga, secret of mana, chaos rings, some smaller krpg like inotia 3, wild frontier, queens crown, zenonia.. which work welll on a touch screen.. it has made me spend more time then any console rpg.. there are some real gems like Real Racing 2 (spend 8 hours singleplayer and already 20 on multiplayer) , NBA jam, NOVA 2, Dead Space, Galaxy on Fire 2, Space Invaders Infinity gene. Plants vs Zombies.. but I think the problem is that the gaming community isn't taking it serious (they don't own a smartphone and are narrow minded) and the lack of advertisments.. it's too hard for them to find a site like Toucharcade and then to find out that Dead Space is a really good game not found on the DS or PSP (even Wii).. or that NBA Jam had a release on it... or that Real Racing 2 has incredible graphics and multiplayer mode which surpasses that of a psp and ds.. I'm just glad that developers are spending more and more on smartphone games.. Gameloft has just licensed the Unreal engine for 4 games.. Capcom is making more and more games for it (well to be fair Devil May Cry 4 is a bit crappy but better then Dead Rising).. Sega announced yesterday Sega All Star Racing.. Square is releasing FF3 (port of DS version) and a port of Final Fantasy Tactics (PSP version) etc etc..
If people would take time to do some research and open up to the idea of a smartphone game they could have a lot of fun... but hey.. it's not my loss..
