Nintendo probably won't do 3D next gen. Simply because nobody has glasses free TV's and the few that have glasses TV's won't likely be enough to support a 3D platform. If Nintendo bundled the TV with the console it would cost like 1,000$ minimum.
I expect a HD next Nintendo console as Miyamoto said it would be in 2006.
