ps2 had LARGE numbers obv...but a lot of that was either multiple consoles (after first 1-4 broke) and they got the CASUAL gamers last gen
this gen, the casual gamers are going to the wii, so sony loses that branding with those gamers, as they see crying babies on sony commercials and families having fun on wii commercials
sony made a machine for, and is marketing to, hardcore gamers
the # of hardcore gamers just isn't as big as many of u would like to think
