Also for the record Gears of War 3 pre-orders should be massive on the next week because everyone who buys Bulletstorm on opening week automatically gets a free pre-order towards Gears at Gamestop where I work.  If pre-orders don't see a significant rise then we know that Pre-orders are only based off of some kind of equation or something because its an automatic thing, all Xbox 360 Bulletstorms come with a Gears 3 pre-order.

Isn't pre-ordering free normally? Why would they force you to pre-order it?

No pre-ordeing in stores isn't free at all.  Its always $5 to pre-order a regular version and $10 for a collectors.  This price comes off the final price of the game and by Bulletstorm giving you the free pre-order on Gears its basically giving you a $5 off coupon on Gears of War.

The automatic pre-order is in place because Epic and Gamestop wanted it to be and worked out a deal.  The pre-order can be canceled at any time if the person doesn't feel like picking Gears up.  Either way pre-orders should be huge for Gears next week or we know the numbers are off.

Ok, picture it this way:

-Me: Hi, I want a 360 Bullestorm copy.

-Person: Ok, give me your name, adress, and credit card info.

-Me: I'm in a hurry.

-Person: Sorry, you're forced to preorder.

-Me: I JUST WANT A COPY!!

This obviously only applies to people in our system, mostly those who are PowerUp Rewards members, which is about 75% of our client base, and the kind of people that show up on launch week for games.  Either way its cool and nothing to compain about, its a discount on a game and like I said at any time if someone doesn't want it all they have to do is cancel it or just not pick it up, its a free pre-order.
