I've been in a documentary phase for awhile since I got Netflix and I was thinking the other day that it would be pretty cool if there was one about Nintendo. Nintendo has such a long history and has many fascinating people that work for them which could make for a very interesting documentary. I feel there is a lot about Nintendo's past and present that many people don't know about (such as Nintendo running a taxi company). I emailed Nintendo about it and this was the response I got back.
"Hello,
Thanks for contacting us. Regarding your request that Nintendo make a documentary based on the company's history it's worth mentioning that Nintendo is not involved in the film industry. Therefore, I haven't heard of any plans for an official documentary on Nintendo. Of course, you never know what the future may hold, so keep your fingers crossed!"
Sincerely,
Alain Dao
Nintendo of America Inc.
I thought it was pretty funny that he said Nintendo wasn't involved in the film industry when they allowed Super Mario Bros. movie to be made back in 1993 (plus they have Super Mario Bros cartoons). Maybe this time they could actually have a decent film about Nintendo instead of the not so great Super Mario Bros film. Anyways, I wanted to know what you guys thought about this. This could be a very interesting documentary if they jammed it full of interesting interviews with people such as Shigeru Miyamoto and had little facts/info that aren't even listed on the wiki-page. Would you be interested in watching a documentary about Nintendo?
