I don't know what country you are from but I live in America and I still see commercials all the time. I really depends on what shows/network your watching. I have actually seen very little PS3 commercials compared to Wii and 360.
I mainly see Kinect commercials because no matter what show I or my family is wathcing Kinect is being shown LOL. Microsoft has done an amazing job with marketing Kinect. I don't see many PS3 ads...the last one I saw was LBP 2 about 2 weeks ago.
As I said it really depends on the show your watching...for example, my little brother puts on Spongebob or some other show mainly aimed at kids...everytime I see him have it on I see a Mario Sports Mix ad. Honestly, I think I have seen at least 2 Mario Sports Mix commercials everyday for the past 3 weeks LOL.

I see PS3 and Xbox360 commercials on the main channels during sports event ( All Stars week end, , I used to see them every week end watching NFL games, even on Monday night football, I see them these days during NBA games on ESPN or TNT).
Maybe the Wii commercials are still on the kids channels but they aren't on the big commercial channels watched by adults...

I agree with you 100%...why would they promote the Wii during a Sporting event or a scary movie LOL? The Wii(along with Kinect) still gets tons of ads during kid shows but why wouldn't they? The Wii was targeted at family's from the start so why would they change their marketing? By the way, the "big" channels your refering to isn't Wii's main audience...and networks such as Nickelodian have Millions of viewers as well so its not like nobody is watching LOL.
