Sorry, but people simply don't do that. Most of the people I know with Wiis are 40+ and several don't even own computers. My Dad likes playing Wii games and I have to turn everything on for him and put the disc in, etc. There is no way on this earth he would be able to work out how to use an internet search engine (I doubt he'd even know what one was.) and search for a review.
To your average person if it's not in their newspaper it doesn't exist. It has absolutely nothing to do with laziness, it's about gaming being a completely alien world. If I didn't know anything about the way reviews work I would assume anything above 5/10 is better than average because that's the way newspaper reviews work. With games it's clearly different. How the hell is a casual supposed to know that?
