I'm sure GeoHotz is the reason we've seen no substantial updates from mid-2008 until today, despite his hacks not happening til the tail end of 2010.  ;)

I think he is to blame because instead of putting out small update after small update, they may be trying to patch up all the security exploits so there won't be anymore hacks. If we see another update by E3, I bet it will be a big one (in terms of security)
