Why do people like the Aqua Blue 3DS?

While I do like the blue one better, I do agree that the whole thing should be blue. I wonder why Nintendo went for the black inner upper top screen.

I think they figured that having a blue top-screen would kill your eyes while trying to view the 3D effect.
