The fact Sony pushed blu ray through the PS3 surely helped them winning the format war. Im sure Thismeintel doesnt argue with that. But in the end, whatever company do and how they push their technology, its always the consumers that decide.

Thats incorrect, one was offered a truce and it didnt take it. If it was accepted and HD-DVD still failed then yes it would be consumers but as it is Blu-ray gave it the final blow because in asking for the merger HD-DVD was putting a lot of hope into it because otherwise it was giving up against Blu-ray, if they fought they might have won.

Companies were going to HD-DVD remember that, they weren't just going to Blu-ray, Transformers was even signed to a 3 movie deal with HD-DVD. I now own that on Blu-ray

I dont argue with the fact the main incentive for consumer to chose blu ray was because they got it with the PS3. Or that if Microsoft would have included it with every 360 they might have won. But its still the consumers who bought and rented more blu rays, yes because they had a PS3, but thats not the point.
