Choosing games is like anything in life--you get back what you put in.
If you do no research and buy on impulse, more than likely you will get a lot of bad games.
If you do research, rent games, and make thoughtful choices you will end up with a nice collection.
Why should developers stop making crap if people will keep buying it?
