I don't see why the Wii must be saved? Because its sales are on par with it competitors now? The little differences in these sales are meaningless. A few weeks ago in december it had sales almost twice of it nearest competitor.
I think the main reason for the actual lower Wii sales are that the Wii has no system sellers lately, because Nintendo want that the people to have enough many in their hands for the 3DS. After the 3DS launch we will see many new Nintendo games for the Wii. The Last Story, Xenoblade, Pandoras Tower, Pikmin 3, Zelda, Kirby, Fatal Frame, Nigh of the sacrifice, Earth Seeker, Dragon Quest X, etc. are all on their way :)
