All this trouble because Sony was so stupid to beging with and removed a feature they implemented themselves... apparently without really thinking to hard about it.
Goes to show, when your making a product, always think about what your putting on it.
Still, seems unlikely you could ban someone else. You MAYBE could use the Key to change your PS3 ID and therefore defeat the ban.... and get other peoples PS3's banned that way, but that's about all I could see be possible.
Unless Sony's online was designed by a bunch of monkeys.

Well when you think about it... if they can hack admin powers to ban other people... that would suggest that the ban powers were specifically built into the PS3 and the PS3's software at defualt... so all it takes is a switch to enable mod powers.
Which is just... beyond stupid.

SONY's banned console list will be located on there PSN servers. The only way around the ban would be to have the console spoof a different ID number to the server, though this is going to pretty difficult as first you would need to figure out how to decrypt keys so you know what the key looks like. Then you would need to repeat the process on a number of different consoles to figure out how the encrpytion process works -- finally you need to convince SONY's PSN servers that the keys your sending are real keys/ID numbers.
