I don't know about that. The 3DS comes out in Japan next week on Sat - Feb 26. So I honestly don't expect the the PS3 to lead the way in 2011. The XBox 360 is also outselling it worldwide overall.

The 360 is outselling the PS3 in the Americas in a way that it makes up the difference, but around the world, the PS3 is outselling the 360 (that means in multiple regions).

My shock comes from seeing the Wii in (literally) last place. I've never seen a market leader down like that, but then again, this is an odd gen. The PS3 & 360 had a mid-gen upkick thanks to Kinect/Move & slimmer and/or redesigned models with price cuts, while the Wii has had to rely on just one price cut and a few bundles/new colors here or there.

However, if you take in the fact that the Wii still has a commanding lead, the situation looks very different.

It had a supernova first few years, and then, at least compared to itself, has started to plummet sharply.  If it wasn't for the holidays....

However, the lack of support and only the Ninty games can only hold up for so long.  They basically released Mario and hadthat carry them for like a year.  DK didn't have the same impact.
