1. Can you play your PS3 games without being forced to put the disc? Can you even choose the DRM of your console games? In my eyes, consoles have a more draconian DRM than Steamworks, and far less choices of DRM. With Steamworks you can at least play the game without needing to put the disc, on any machine you want to.

2. The biggest advantage of Steam is that it gives a LOT of great benefits in exchange of Steam integration, more benefits than any other service gives.

1. I don't really mind disc check. It's pretty annoying but at least I have the disc with me all the time, unlike access to some online servers. Besides, Steam can be incredibly slow at times - especially if I have a slow connection. Anyway, I don't really understand what part of console 'DRM' you consider bad (except for downloadable stuff of course).

2. Like I said, I want to be able to decide myself what kind of a deal I make. A forced deal is not something I'm going to make, not for much more than a few euros at least.

Choice is not something you should be trying to kill. How could it hurt if I could choose whether I want to use Steam or not? If you were still able to use Steam for your games, would you really mind me having a choice?
