Which would suggest there was around 500K copies lying on shelves ww. Could still be overtracked by 500K or something like that. I doubt AC Brotherhood was so hot that it had only 500k lying on shelves right after the massive x-mas season. But who knows. |
Oh yeah, I'm not saying it isn't or is overtracked, I was just trying to correct an error (because if it had been 6.48 million sold on VGC when shipments were only at 6.5, that would be overtracking). I'm not what sort of numbers we should expect to be sitting on shelves when it comes to games. I know it's generally around the 1.5 million mark for consoles (plus or minus 0.5 million), except during shortages or overshipping, but games seem to be too variable (based on popularity, previous franchise history, 1st shipment size etc etc)
Edit: It seems though that Just Dance/Just Dance 2/Michael Jackson: The Experience et al are overtracked (not neccesarily each game, but overall), seeing as end of 2010 sales for JD2 was 4.87 million, MJ sales were 1.73 million, and Just Dance sales were ~5 million. That doesn't include Kids and Dance on Broadway, not sure of their popularity, but it already comes to over the 10.5 million figure given (not too clear if that is shipped or sold, as AC Brotherhood says shipped while the section on these games says sold), at over 11.5 million copies.
