| ShadowSoldier said: I've been saying this for the longest time. The demographic of the userbase has to be taken into accountability. The Wii has made it self the casual/Family oriented console. A game like Last Story is anything but casual. 360s overall fanbase's numbers show that many of them are reluctant to try JRPGs, and yet the PS3 is still starving for great exclusive JRPGs. We saw what happened with a great RPG in Demons Souls (Over a million sales now) and we saw what happened with a mediocre (Though i loved it) one in White Knight Chronicles (600,000 copies sold) and not to mention that the Tales ports have handidly outsold the original versions on the 360/Wii |
Yeah i agree with this post. i have to wonder what Sakaguchi and Mistwalker were thinking when they developed this game. its fair enough to make the game for the WIi speciifcally because of the hardware/software accessibility; however to completely alienate both 360 and PS3 fans who have the mainsteam fanbase. why not have developed the game for the Wii then ported to the 360 and PS3 later.
not to mention mainstream games have been met with mediocure reception on the Wii, eg Dead Space Extration or Resident Evil The Darkside Chronicles. so not sure why they decided to go exclusive.
either way the title will likely do 300k in Japan, and maybe 1mil WW, but i think thats good. i'm not sure if Nintendo think thats good enough, but i think its good.
