| binary solo said: Hmmm did they send Bulletstorm out to die on PS3? KZ3 is going to take all the oxygen out for the Bulletstorm launch on PS3. They would have been better to delay by 3 or 4 weeks because there's nothing I know of that's going to dampen 360 sales. The 360:PS3 pre-order ratio of BS is worse than the Dragon Age II 360/PS3 ratio and that's a pretty large pre-order ration by itself. A game with equal popularity on both systems should have a 360:PS3 ratio of 1.63:1. Dragon Age's is 2.47:1 Bulletstorms is at least 2.54:1 and possibly larger. I can imagine 2 possible reasons: PS3 owners don't really know Epic very will so they aren't primed by their association with BS to get the game; or people who are likely to buy BS are also likely to buy KZ3 and they are going with KZ3 over BS in large numbers. Could be a combination of both. There's not many games that really hit that equal popularity ratio. Most games are skewed to one sytem or another. Deadspace 2 was pretty close, slightly skewed towards PS3 at 1.36:1. COD Black Ops was quite skewed to 360 at 2.12:1. I reckon anything skewed more than 2.63:1 has a popularity problem on PS3, and of course anything that actually favours PS3 (e.g. Mortal Kombat at the moment) has a popularity problem on 360. So I reckon there's a good chance of Bulletstorm not being as popular on PS3 as it should. |
Mass Effect 1 being a timed exclusive on the 360 is what probably caused the poor dragons age ratio. It could also have to do with the fact that the ps3 has no wrpg type exclusives. So if you are a fan of these type of games you are going to have a 360 not a ps3. Sony has dropped the ball on certain genres this gen. I know alot of people like myself have skipped the playstation this gen because of the lack of certain type of games.
