Hey.  I joined to comment on this.  :)

I sure hope this at least garners more interest in the StarFox series, which Miyamoto himself said he wished was more successful.  I have a theory, as well...

StarFox was successful possibly because it pioneered 3D graphics on the SNES.  StarFox 64 was successful because of its world firsts, too--the rumble feature (however, I never bought that friggin rumble pak!) and it was completely fully voice acted.  Not to mention the game was unbelievably addictive and fun to play!  StarFox Adventures, while it had some good things going for it, and it had gorgeous graphics, it did nothing new.  Everyone agreed it was basically a Zelda clone.  There wasn't anything new with Assault, either. (although I thought the game was fun).  Command tried to be new, but as everyone else has noted, the game itself was clunky and not much fun to play, and the story was basically non-existent.

HOWEVER... now, we have StarFox in 3D, which means that StarFox is in its most successful position--leading the forefront of some new gaming technology.  New tech PLUS the amazing SF64 game EQUALS a winner.  I'm predicting this will be the most successful StarFox game yet, and the series will pick up steam after it's released.

I'm hoping this will remind Nintendo that StarFox is successful when it's innovative--if we're experiencing something for the first time in a video game, and we're in the Arwing while we do it, then we'll have an amazing StarFox game.

PLEASE NINTENDO...  remember this when you make a StarFox game for the Wii, or the Wii 2!  It would be awesome to control the Arwing with the Wii Remote.  Not to mention... legit online play... maybe voice chat...

I think it would be cool to see an MMORPG set in the StarFox universe....  Maybe?  Please?
