| M.U.G.E.N said: see few things,,I never stated that in a way such as such things happen every other weekend or something...just saying, it may not be likely, but it has happened before Ninty is not a perfect company, they can and have made mistakes to, will they make mistakes this time, who knows before psp, there was no one to even challenge Ninty on the handheld market, and with possibly around 70mil LT sales in HW, PSP did just fine. We still have lot to learn about NGP, remember last year when Nintendo fans were making thread after thread how is the PSP2 is DOA, Why PSP2 will fail, SOny needs a 3d screen to succeed, Devs won't support the psp2 etc etc? And yet here we are, talking of the NGP can actually beat the 3ds...reason? NGP has impressed so far and sony has done really well. THings change fast. And mind you even I don't expect NGP > 3ds in sales LT....but I find it hilarious how some fans who say haha ppl thought ps3 will rule coming off of PS2 and yet wii is in the lead now, forget it now. So again who knows, with over 75devs onboard (probably increased by now too) excluding 1st party support which looks to be way stronger than it was for the psp, NGP is off to a great start. And I think as fans both sony and Ninty fans should be happy, next gen handhelds are gonna be GREAT no matter which side you choose and healthy competition will always lead to better results for the fans themselves! I can't wait until TGS, cuz only at the end of TGS will we have a good idea of the NGP line up of games and other aspects like price, a VERY good year for gaming :) |
Of course, they can make mistakes. But predicting one when it is in no way likely is just a waste of time. The world could end tomorrow, couldn't it?
PSP, depending on how you judge it, could be anywhere from a complete failure to extremely successful. It may have challenged Nintendo in the market meaningfully, but it did not replicate the PS1 as some may have expected.
Also, you're giving Nintendo fans far too much discredit. I don't recall any such threads and only Pachter called PSP dead on arrival. The only reason we're discussing this ridiculous possibility is because some people are getting too hopeful. The NGP has impressed Sony fans, but that hardly says anything about its sales, as is shown by the PS3.
Honestly, the Wii>PS3 in sales despite PS2 has nothing to do with this case, as I gave you the reasons for it in my last post. "It happened before so it will happen again" is the worst logic imaginable when there's little else to back it up.
I'm not against all fans being, happy, though, :P. We're just supposed to be discussing sales so I'm not bringing it up.
