Think Blu Ray has gone to far for this to be the case? It's sales last I checked were equal to that of modern VHS sales. Just cause you bet your main competitor doesn't mean you get to be the next standard.

Maybe it will be a few years befor a truly revolutionary format dethrones DVDs.

How could the CD-i lose to VCD, when the CD-i is not a format, but a game console, and is even a VCD player itself?
