War of the Worlds (the Tom Cruise one)

Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban

Cloverfield

The Mask of Zorro

That's what I can think of right now, I dislike a lot of movies, but those are the ones I truly hate

Prisoner of Azkaban is an interesting choice, as a lot of people like it the best (not my personal favorite, that's Half-Blood Prince... Goblet of Fire and Deathly Hallows part 1 were great as well).

The people who like it usually didn't read the book, maybe it's fine if you didn't, but if you did it completely shat on it. They have almost nothing in common

All the HP movies are absolute shit sans The Goblet of Fire. That one is decent.

I don't understand how can they fuck up so badly with such good material. Prisoner is especially shitty.

It's pretty hard to adapt most books witout the movie seeming like it's been editet out and missing parts. Adapting a book is hard, and when the succes of the movie is guaranteed (like in the case of the Harry Potter movies) oftentimes film makers won't put enough effort into it. Kinda the same reason why so many licensed video games suck.

Then they damn well should. Not comparing LOTR with HP here, but LOTR movies certainly lived up to the books.

@darth: reverse for me. Books first!

LOTR movies surpassed the books. *trollface.jpg*

What do you know :P
