I wish Age of Empires didn't go MMO, I would have upgraded my PC just for that game if it didn't.

I wouldn't let that put you off as it still retains much of the age of empires gameplay that made the originals great. It'll be free to play when it is fully released anyway.

Go an play www.tribalwars.net for an bit and then picture that with real time battles which that lacks and you have age of empires online. 

its not bad but the only way to do well is to have no life and play it only and constantly which is an major turn off since i have an life and other games to play. 

I loved age of empires and i doubt i will be playing this much 

The planned max level in AOE Online is 40 and I'm on lvl 30 with the Greeks already after relatively little playtime. To be honest I'm only playing it as much as I did the previous games when they released so I don't think it's that bad.
