Honestly, I just don't see Sony doing a 3D iteration of NGP. The core problem being that huge OLED multi-touchscreen... 3D touchscreen technologies are in development, but they're so far off, and likely so expensive, I think anything like that is probably more likely for NGP2/PSP3 in another 6 or so years. If NGP had used the back-touch panel only, then I think it'd be possible, but not with the current NGP.
On the other hand, I could actually see a 3DS upgrade that uses 3G down the line when the costs make more sense and data networks grow more robust.
