Basically, it skips about 30-120 days each time you finish the "To-do list", so if you go out and explore for say.. 10 hours or just 2 minutes and come back and then finish the todo list it will only skip one time frame. I think there are about 6-7 timeframes before the final battle.
Disconnect and self destruct, one bullet a time.
