I'm not going to tell you when the evil comes but be warned-- it comes a lot sooner than you expect. I had more than 100 days until it was suppsed to come, entered the throne room, and then next thing I knew it was the day of the attack. Be careful of that.
Also, in case it does catch you by surprise, there will be a point when you're in Bowerstone where you can go right or go left under an arch that looks like an exit from the town. If you take that exit you can go back to a previous save to where you enter the throne room above.
It's absolutely stupid that they only let you go back at that point and that there's a 100 plus day jump.

agreed, I think that pretty much catches everybody by surprise the first time they play through it. Never knew about the exit/save thing though, good info :)

Yeah, I really cannot figure out why they did it like they did.
You know when the attack is coming so you're not supposed to be surprised by it so it makes no sense they make a 100 plus day jump. The only way that would make sense is if they didn't give you a way out afterwords, but they do.
And that way out sucks because you pretty much play up to the end of the game and then they let you go back. It's just one of the dumbest things I've ever seen a game do on purpose.
I thought the Fable 2 ending was one of the best endings *ever* and that's why the terrible Fable 3 ending was such a slap in the face. The complete change in dynamic was an incredibly idea that had amazing potential but it was completely wasted. If you bought land at any point near the beginning of the game, money was a joke.
When I became king I had about 10,000,000 already and had already stopped trying by that point. By the end of the game I had about 16,000,000 and that's with buying every property in the game, making every good decision, and giving a friend another 10,000,000. They really needed to make money harder to come by because those decisions were just meaningless since I had beyond the required 6,000,000.
And then that 100 plus day jump completely sucked. You know the attack is coming so there's no reason for a surprise. Instead of giving you any type of warning, they just throw you right into the end of the game. So you fight through up until just before the final battle, and then they give you a way out...
I of course took it because there was a lot more I wanted to do but that completely ruined the day of the attack for me. When I was finally ready to play it, I had already seen it all except for the last battle. When I did the last battle I didn't even realize it since it was so lackluster.
Ugh, I'll stop ranting now. I liked Fable 3 but the ending was just such a massive disappointment.
